The final deadline for applicants to apply ASEAN BAC Scholarship is officially 30th June 2012 and it will be counted based on the seals of the post office

JAKARTA, 16 February 2012 - In line with the Cha-am Hua Hin Declaration on Strengthening Cooperation on Education to Achieve an ASEAN Caring and Sharing Community, the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) is helping to encourage regional cooperation by offering scholarships in selected ASEAN universities for students wishing to study programs relating to business and technology. The scholarship application deadline is 31 May 2012. The ASEAN-BAC Scholarship program aims to foster “ASEAN youths with ASEAN hearts", and is a way for the private sector of ASEAN to continually contribute towards the enhancement of “People-to-People Connectivity" (P2P).

ASEAN sustainable development much depends on the ASEAN youth who is the future ASEAN owner. It is not only necessary to bring them knowledge and train their talents but also spread the love, the desire and the boundless enthusiasm for the development of ASEAN. For this purpose, we propose to establish the ‘ASEAN BAC Scholarship’ with its slogan “NURTURING TALENTS WITH THE ASEAN HEART”. The ASEAN BAC Scholarship will help ASEAN students who are talented and need financial support, to be trained in the best & very “ASEAN” educational environment. The ASEAN BAC Scholarship also helps to improve the cooperation in education among ASEAN countries, which is one of basic conditions to implement the full cooperation of the ASEAN Community. Tan Tao University, the first Vietnam – U.S. University in Vietnam will grant 50 scholarships worth of USD 27,500 each in the school year 2012 – 2013.
