Tan Tao University (TTU) opens medicine school because of the inevitable demand of the times
"Tan Tao University opens medicine school because of the inevitable demand of the times" Prof. Pham Thi Minh Duc reviewed when evaluated the training programs of TTU's medical school on March 27th in Hanoi.
Being held by Hanoi Medical University (HMU) Evaluating Council, including Dr. Nguyen Huu Tu, Chairman; Dr. Ta Thanh Van, Deputy Chairman, Dr. Nguyen Tran Thi Giang Huong, Secretary. Prf. Pham Thi Minh Duc and Dr. Dinh Huu Dung were commissioners. On behalf of TTU, Madame Dang Thi Hoang Yen, Chairman; Prof. Bui Duy Tam, member of the TTU Medical Advisory Board.
Speaking at the ceremony, Madame Dang Thi Hoang Yen sincerely thanked to the support of The Evaluating Council. Madame Yen said that TTU was trying its best to have a team of doctors with U.S. standards, to be full of medical ethics to serve the Vietnamese in general and Cuu Long River Delta residents in particular.
According Prf. Bui Duy Tam, member of TTU Mecical Advisory Board; Madame Dang Thi Hoang Yen's desire is a univesity to train scientific doctors with medical ethics, talents and longterm vision; Therefore the training program will follow Illinois University which has a lot of medical training experiences, with the collaboration of many experienced scientists in clinic and teaching.
Moreover Prof. Bui Duy Tam also looked forward to cooperating and receiving advices in organization and building TTU Medical Faculty from HMU.
In addition to the agreement of supporting TTU to open School of Medicine, the Evaluation Council said that the training curriculum consisted of the basic requirements of medicine training framework according to Ministry of Education (MOE) standards; Besides the framework program was improved by adding many new essential courses which were not in the framework program of MOE for medical students.
In his remarks, Prof. Pham Thi Minh Duc said that TTU opened medicine school because of the inevitable demand of the times, when we were severely lacking of high qualified doctors with international training standards, especially for Cuu Long River Delta today.
The Evaluating Council also gave advises in adding, adjusting and updating the medical curriculum framework in order to improve it towards the best in pratice. Preparing carefuly the facilities and faculty is also crucial to build training programs and appropriate teaching to meet students' needs.
TTU is also planning to set up a combination of medical training and research in which there is a hospital to combine clinic, research and practice.
In the assessment's conclusion, The Evaluating Council said that with the advantage of having experience in specialized training, collaboration with other prestigious educational institutions; TTU would have many advantages to open Medicine School in the future.
On behalf of TTU, Madame Dang Thi Hoang Yen thanked to the advices of The Evaluating Council. Madame Yen also committed to have a good medical school to train qualified doctors to serve the people.
