Tan Tao University (TTU) and the Korean Language Education Center of Sogang University (South Korea) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), creating more opportunities for students to learn Korean, engage in academic exchanges, and pursue international learning experiences.

Strengthening Vietnam–South Korea Educational Connections

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Ngo Quang Vinh – Tan Tao University and Mr. Kim Jin-hwa – Director of the Korean Language Education Center, Sogang University, along with representatives from relevant departments of both institutions.

At the ceremony, representatives of both institutions affirmed their shared commitment to strengthening educational cooperation and creating meaningful international learning and exchange opportunities for students. The MOU provides a foundation for TTU and Sogang University to gradually implement collaborative activities that meet the needs of both institutions, particularly in Korean language education and academic exchange.

As higher education places increasing emphasis on international integration and global competencies, developing in-depth partnerships that deliver practical value to learners is one of Tan Tao University’s key priorities. Through the MOU, the two institutions will strengthen the exchange of information and experience in Korean language education, support Korean language training for TTU students, and collaborate on lectures, seminars, and workshops on Korean language and culture.

The partnership also extends to academic and administrative exchanges between faculty members and staff, the development of short-term Korean language programs based on specific needs, and the exploration of other collaborative projects agreed upon by both institutions.

Through these initiatives, the partnership aims to go beyond institutional connections and develop into concrete programs that provide TTU students with greater opportunities to access Korean language, culture, and learning environments in South Korea.

Practical Support for TTU Students

One of the notable aspects of the MOU is the support mechanisms available to TTU students who are introduced to programs offered by the Korean Language Education Center at Sogang University.

Accordingly, students recommended by TTU faculty members may be exempted from the registration fee. Where applicable, a faculty recommendation letter may also be accepted in place of guarantor-related documentation.

For the KAP200 afternoon program, students recommended by TTU who enroll in two consecutive semesters may receive a 10% discount on tuition for the first semester.

In addition, Sogang University may design and implement short-term Korean language programs tailored to the specific needs of TTU and its students. The two institutions may also collaborate on online workshops for teachers, provide learning materials for institutions using the Sogang Korean textbook series, and organize information sessions locally.

These forms of support will provide students with greater access to Korean language programs at Sogang University while helping them better prepare for future study plans and international experiences in South Korea.

TTU Supporting Students Throughout the Partnership

Tan Tao University will provide information about Sogang University’s Korean language programs, assist students in preparing recommendation letters when needed, and select and nominate students for suitable short-term programs.

TTU will also coordinate administrative procedures related to joint projects and strengthen connections between faculty members and staff responsible for Korean language education at both institutions.

Through this approach, the MOU between TTU and Sogang University is expected to lead to concrete collaborative activities closely aligned with students’ learning needs, language development, and international experiences.

A New Step in TTU’s Internationalization Strategy

The establishment of this partnership with Sogang University further expands Tan Tao University’s international network in South Korea, while providing students with additional opportunities for language education, cultural experiences, academic exchange, and international learning pathways.

With a three-year term from the date of signing, the MOU serves as a foundation for both institutions to gradually develop and implement appropriate, effective, and sustainable collaborative programs. Specific projects will be mutually agreed upon based on practical needs and the conditions for implementing each activity.

Through its partnership with Sogang University, Tan Tao University continues to expand its international connections, creating more opportunities for students to strengthen their language skills, broaden their learning experiences, and prepare for future growth in an increasingly international environment.
