Letter of Thanks

Dear our Sponsors,

To create a continuing and vibrant resource for students and scholars at Tan Tao University, Mme Dang Thi Hoang Yen, her daughter, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Anh and former American Ambassador Michael W. Michalak (served 2007 – 2011) have honored TTU by donating their collections of books to the Tan Tao Library.  Moreover, from 2012, Tan Tao University Library is happy to join in ASIA Foundation to receive thousand of books. Approximately, the TTU Library got more than 2 billion VND for the book donation. With such generous donations, our donors ensure that their resources and knowledge are not held exclusively by a few, but rather, are shared with others, to provide a center to benefit all those who might read these books  in the future.
The TTU library deeply appreciates their generous donations to help fill our school libraries with exciting books in support of the academic teaching and research mission of this university.  We would like to encourage others to consider making a donation of books, texts or digital materials, which might benefit our university community.
The Tan Tao University would very much appreciate your donations to our library. With such a donation, you can insure that your books and knowledge will never become out-dated, as our students will continue and expand upon your knowledge and resources, to contribute in the future to the arts and sciences and to our society. We welcome your participation in the initiative to create the finest library in the region by contributing books on subjects, such as the natural and applied sciences, business, the humanities and history as well as literature.

Explore the options below to discover the planned gift that is right for you

Gifts of Cash

  • You send a check, wire funds, or contribute online to Tan Tao University.
  • We use your donation for the purposes you specify.

  • Use the simplest asset to make your donation — no appraisal or acceptance requirements, as with gifts of appreciated property.
  • Deliver a gift that Tan Tao University can use immediately.
  • Receive a full charitable deduction, and apply it against a larger percentage of your taxable income than a deduction for a property gift.

Gifts of Appreciated Securities

  • You transfer securities to Tan Tao University.
  • Tan Tao University sells your securities and uses the proceeds as directed by you.

  • You receive gift credit and an immediate income tax deduction for the fair market value of the securities on the date of transfer, regardless of what you originally paid for them.
  • You pay no capital gains tax on the securities you donate.
  • You can direct your gift to a specific fund or purpose.
  • You have the satisfaction of making a significant gift now or funding a life-income gift that benefits Tan Tao University later.

Gifts of Real Estate

  • You pay no capital gains tax on the transfer.
  • You can direct the proceeds from your gift to a specific Tan Tao University program.

Gifts of Personal Property

  • You transfer a painting, antiques, collectibles or other personal property to Tan Tao University.
  • Tan Tao University may elect to hold the property and display or use it in the furtherance of its mission. Tan Tao University may elect to sell the property at some point in the future and use the proceeds as you have directed.

  • You receive gift credit and an immediate income tax deduction for the appraised value of your gift and pay no capital gains tax
  • You can have the satisfaction of making a significant gift now to Tan Tao University without adversely affecting your cash flow.

Gifts by Will or Living Trust

  • You can provide now for a future gift to Tan Tao University by including a bequest provision in your will or revocable trust.
  • Tan Tao University receives the gift and applies it to the purpose(s) you specified.

  • Your assets remain in your control during your lifetime.
  • You can modify your bequest if your circumstances change.
  • You can direct your bequest to a particular purpose (be sure to check with Tan Tao University to make sure your gift can be used as intended).
  • There is no upper limit on the estate tax deductions that can be taken for charitable bequests.
  • You know that your gift will benefit Tan Tao University tomorrow just as you intend it to today.

Charitable Bargain Sales

  • You sell your residence or other property to Tan Tao University for a price below the appraised market value, resulting in a transaction that is part charitable gift and part sale.
  • Tan Tao University may use the property, but usually elects to sell it and use the proceeds of the sale for the gift purposes you specified.

  • You receive an immediate income tax deduction for the appraised market value of the portion of the property you donated.
