GEN Z’S UNDERSTANDING OF LOGISTICS – EXPANDING CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Before attending the talkshow, many students still associated Logistics with familiar images such as containers, warehouses, and transportation. While these are certainly part of the industry, they represent only a small part of a much broader field. Recognizing this, the Faculty of Economics & Business Administration organized “Global Logistics – Global Career” and invited industry professionals to share their perspectives, giving students an opportunity to better understand the field they are studying and explore potential career pathways for the future.

From the perspective of industry professionals, the speakers helped students see Logistics as more than transportation. It is a connected chain of activities involving different functions and professional roles. In addition to operations and cargo management, the industry also offers career opportunities in business development, Sales, customer service, and other areas across the supply chain. While each position has its own requirements, success in the field requires a combination of professional knowledge and skills such as communication, collaboration, situational handling, and problem-solving.

Speakers shared practical insights into the Logistics industry, employer expectations, and career opportunities for young professionals.

The insights from industry professionals also opened up a direct dialogue with students through a Q&A session. Students actively raised questions about job responsibilities, essential skills, and what businesses expect from young talent. Rather than simply receiving general information, students had the opportunity to engage directly with professionals working in the industry and gain a better understanding of what lies behind specific roles and career paths.

CONNECTING WITH BUSINESSES – EXPANDING CAREER OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS

The “Global Logistics – Global Career” Talkshow also highlighted the importance of university–business engagement in TTU’s educational journey. Through professional exchanges, thematic talks, and experiential activities, the University and its faculties have opportunities to build and strengthen connections with industry experts, speakers, and businesses across various sectors.

Beyond bringing real-world stories closer to the classroom, these partnerships can create additional opportunities for students to gain exposure to professional working environments, understand employers’ recruitment needs, and explore internship and employment opportunities at leading companies relevant to their fields of study.

With a continued focus on connecting education with real-world practice, TTU will continue to strengthen the connection between the University – Businesses – Students, enabling students not only to develop academic knowledge in the classroom but also to engage with industry professionals, gain practical experience, and proactively prepare for their future careers.
