On the morning of October 4, Tan Tao University (TTU) hosted the 14th Hoa Trang Nguyen Awards Ceremony, honoring 60 outstanding students who achieved remarkable results in international Olympic competitions, the National Excellent Student Competition, provincial and municipal academic competitions, as well as the highest-achieving Grade 12 students from 14 provinces and cities across Southern and South-Central Vietnam.

14 Seasons of Honoring Vietnam’s Young Talents
The Hoa Trang Nguyen Awards were first organized in 2008 as an award program aimed at encouraging and supporting academic talent and promoting the spirit of striving for excellence in learning among students nationwide. Over the years, the Awards have honored more than 10,500 Hoa Trang Nguyen recipients across the three regions of Northern, Central, and Southern Vietnam, with a total prize value reaching VND 40 billion. The Awards have received the attention, support, and active cooperation of ministries, government agencies, higher education institutions, and Departments of Education and Training nationwide, gradually affirming their social significance and practical value in identifying, honoring, and encouraging young talent.
Honoring 62 Outstanding Students in the 14th Season
n its 14th season, the Hoa Trang Nguyen Awards continued to affirm their mission of supporting young talents by honoring students who won medals at international Olympic competitions, students who achieved First Prize in the National Excellent Student Competition, and valedictorians with the highest combined scores in three subjects in the National High School Graduation Examination across 12 provinces and cities in Southern and South-Central Vietnam, including: Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa, Dong Nai, Lam Dong, Dak Lak, Vinh Long, Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh, Dong Thap, Can Tho, An Giang, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, and Ca Mau. Following the thorough review and evaluation of hundreds of applications, the Awards Council decided to honor 62 outstanding students. Among them were 3 students who won Silver Medals at international Olympic competitions, 9 students who achieved First Prize in the National Excellent Student Competition, and 50 students who were valedictorians in the National High School Graduation Examination. This recognition is a timely and well-deserved acknowledgment of the students’ passion for learning and their persistent efforts on their journey toward academic excellence.

Sharing about this year’s selection process, Dr. Nguyen Mai Lam – Vice Chairman of the Hoa Trang Nguyen Awards Council and President of Tan Tao University, said:
“After one month of officially launching the program, the Organizing Committee received numerous applications from high schools in 12 provinces and cities in Southern and South-Central Vietnam. Following a rigorous and impartial evaluation process, the Council selected 62 outstanding students to receive the awards. This number demonstrates the strong reach of the Awards as well as the remarkable spirit of academic excellence among Vietnam’s younger generation.”

In addition to the material value of the awards, the Organizing Committee also entrusts each “Hoa Trang Nguyen” recipient with a mission to serve the community. Having received the award today, the students are expected to continue spreading positive energy, developing their character, and becoming responsible citizens who make meaningful contributions to the development of their homeland and country.

Representing the 62 outstanding students honored, Nguyen Ho Man Tue (Chi Lang High School, Gia Lai Province) shared emotionally:
“The Hoa Trang Nguyen Award is a great honor for me, providing additional motivation and opening up many opportunities for my future. The journey toward receiving the award has taught me valuable lessons about patience, determination, and the spirit of continuous learning. This recognition is both the fruit of my efforts and a reminder to live more responsibly and be ready to serve the community.”
Duong Gia Huy (Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Ho Chi Minh City), an incoming Medical student at Tan Tao University, shared:
“Being named as a recipient of the Hoa Trang Nguyen Award was an incredibly emotional moment for me. This is not only recognition of my years of dedicated study, but also a source of motivation that gives me confidence as I begin my university journey. The award is a great source of encouragement for me to continue nurturing my dreams and contributing to society.”
The 14th Hoa Trang Nguyen Awards Ceremony concluded in an atmosphere of joy and pride. The scholarships presented are not only recognition of academic achievements but also a means of supporting the dreams of the younger generation as they continue their journey of pursuing knowledge.
