On November 2, 2024, Tan Tao University hosted the annual “IT Student Networking Event,” which gathered a large number of faculty members, students, and notably, alumni from the School of Information Technology. This annual event is designed to foster connections across generations of students, contributing to a strong learning environment. It serves as a platform for sharing experiences and career guidance in a warm and genuine atmosphere.
The program served not only as a bridge connecting generations of students, providing new students with an opportunity to meet successful alumni, but also as a space for them to gain a clearer vision of their academic and career paths. Realistic questions and concerns about the field of study and career opportunities were raised by students and received insightful answers from alumni – individuals who have walked a similar path and achieved notable success in their careers.
Dr. Cao Tien Dung, Dean of the School of Information Technology, along with faculty members, took the opportunity to reminisce about memorable moments, creating a warm and cohesive atmosphere. With messages of encouragement, they urged students to make the most of their valuable time in university, emphasizing that this is the prime period to accumulate knowledge and skills, laying a solid foundation for their future careers.
At the networking session, Mr. Pham Ngoc Khanh, Head of Engineering at NAB Innovation Centre Vietnam and a guest speaker with over 20 years of experience in the industry, shared invaluable insights with third- and fourth-year students nearing graduation. With a deep understanding of the job market, Mr. Khanh provided effective salary negotiation tips, helping students to set career goals and prepare for the early stages of their careers. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining a professional attitude and continuously enhancing skills and knowledge, encouraging students to build a solid foundation to confidently enter the competitive job market.
Mr. Le Dinh Dam, one of the distinguished alumni of the School, shared his personal experiences, from studying to overcoming challenges throughout his four years at university. Through these stories, new students gained a deeper understanding of the value of self-development and the importance of continuous learning. The insights shared by alumni provided a broader perspective on the field and future career paths, serving as an inspiration for the students to craft their own journeys of knowledge.
Alumnus Ho Thien Lac conveyed his heartfelt wishes to the new students, hoping they will have a memorable time at the School of Information Technology. He emphasized that this is not only a place for learning but also a “second home”—a place for meaningful experiences, self-discovery, and growth through each stage of their journey.
In the joyful atmosphere of the gathering, the solidarity and strong bonds among generations of students from the School of Information Technology were once again affirmed. The “Information Technology Student Networking Event” is not only an annual tradition but also a testament to the dedicated efforts of the faculty in creating an ideal learning environment where students from different generations are continuously supported and encouraged to grow together.
