To promote scientific research and technological applications in education, the 21st ASIACALL 2024 International Conference took place from December 22-24, 2024, at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry. Under the theme “Empowering Teachers: Integrating AI Tools for Personalized English Teaching and Learning,” the conference brought together leading researchers, fostering the advancement of knowledge and technology in a global context.
At the conference, Dr. Dang Thanh Nhon, Dean of School of Languages at Tan Tao University, presented the research project titled “AI Acceptance Among Vietnamese University Students: Key Influencers”. The study was conducted by a team of scholars, including Dr. Dang Thanh Nhon, Dr. Dung Cao, Dr. Mai-Lâm Nguyen, Dr. Trung Nguyen, Dr. Long Nguyen and Dr. Dien Nguyen.
The research focused on identifying the factors influencing Vietnamese students’ acceptance of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Findings revealed that the perceived usefulness of AI is the most significant factor, while cognitive and skill-related barriers remain challenges to overcome. The research team emphasized the critical role of bridging the gap between theoretical understanding and practical applications of AI. They proposed solutions to support students and educational institutions in effectively leveraging AI to innovate teaching and learning.
In recent years, technology has profoundly transformed education, especially in English language instruction. Integrating AI and supporting software has made teaching and learning more convenient and flexible while offering diverse and abundant learning resources.
This study highlighted AI’s potential to enhance education quality, particularly in personalizing the learning experience. The project is not only a source of pride for Tan Tao University but also contributes to shaping a new vision for Vietnamese education in the era of global digitalization.
