On November 14, 2026, Tan Tao University (TTU) will officially host the International Conference themed “Reimagining Foreign Language Education and Research in the New Era.” The event will bring together researchers, lecturers, experts, and education managers from Vietnam and around the world to promote academic collaboration and explore new directions for foreign language education in the digital era.

A Forum for Dialogue on Foreign Language Education in the New Era
Amid digital transformation and global integration, which are reshaping the ways languages are taught, learned, and researched, foreign language education is facing growing demands for innovation in methodology, technology, and learner competencies. The conference will provide a forum for researchers, lecturers, experts, and education managers from Vietnam and abroad to share emerging trends, exchange experiences, and discuss key issues facing foreign language education today.
Through presentations and academic discussions, the conference will broaden perspectives on foreign language teaching, learning, and research, while providing opportunities for participants to share practical experiences, connect research interests, and explore approaches suited to the evolving landscape of education in the digital era.
Beyond presenting research findings, the conference aims to foster a broader dialogue on how foreign language education can adapt to technological developments and changing societal needs. In doing so, issues concerning learners, educators, curricula, and educational quality will be considered in relation to one another rather than as separate aspects.
Connecting Universities and Expanding Academic Collaboration
The conference will bring together researchers, lecturers, experts, and education managers from Vietnam and abroad, as well as representatives from universities, educational institutions, and organizations working in the fields of languages and foreign language education. The participation of institutions and experts with diverse experiences, research interests, and educational contexts will contribute to a multidimensional academic environment.
The program will be supported by the Steering Committee, Organizing Committee, speakers, and experts, who will contribute to shaping the conference content and leading professional discussions. The connections among participating individuals and institutions will not only facilitate knowledge sharing but also create opportunities for new research directions, educational initiatives, and academic collaborations.

The participation of various educational institutions and experts will also create opportunities to connect shared academic interests, exchange experiences, and develop new avenues for collaboration. This is one of the values that enables the conference to go beyond a one-time academic exchange and become a platform for connections that can continue through future activities in education, research, and academic collaboration.
Four Perspectives on Foreign Language Education in the New Era
From the impact of AI on learning experiences to innovations in teaching methodologies, assessment, ethics, and intercultural competence, the conference will broaden discussions through four parallel academic sessions. Each session will approach a different aspect while addressing a common question: How should foreign language education evolve to meet the emerging needs of learners and society?
The session “AI-Powered Language Learning and Personalised Instruction” will explore how foreign language learning experiences are changing as AI becomes increasingly integrated into education. Beyond the use of technological tools, the discussion will focus on how AI can support personalised learning and respond to the different needs and learning paces of individual learners.
From the perspective of educators, “AI Integration in Teaching and Learning” will examine how AI can be integrated into teaching and learning processes. In this context, technology is not merely a supplementary tool but can serve as a catalyst for lecturers to redesign teaching approaches, learning activities, and interactions with learners.
As technology becomes increasingly embedded in education, “Assessment, Ethics & Quality Assurance” addresses an equally important question: How can education innovate while maintaining fairness, academic integrity, and educational quality? Issues surrounding assessment, academic ethics, and quality assurance therefore become integral to the process of educational transformation.
From a broader perspective, “Research, Curriculum Design & Intercultural Competence in the New Era” will approach foreign language education through research, curriculum design, and the development of intercultural competence. In an increasingly interconnected global learning and professional environment, knowing a language is not only about linguistic proficiency, but also about the ability to understand, interact with, and adapt to cultural and contextual differences.
Together, the four sessions form a coherent discussion, moving from technology and learner experiences to teaching methodologies, assessment, curriculum design, and intercultural competence. This approach also broadens the conversation around foreign language education—not only asking what learners need to learn, but also how languages should be taught and learned, how learning should be assessed, and what competencies should be developed for the future.
Expanding Academic Connections and Strengthening TTU’s Academic Position
Hosting an international conference on foreign language education contributes to Tan Tao University’s direction of strengthening academic collaboration and development. Through the participation of experts, researchers, and representatives from educational institutions in Vietnam and abroad, the conference will expand academic networks and create further opportunities for collaboration in education, research, and professional development.
At the same time, the conference provides TTU with an opportunity to strengthen its role as a connector in international academic activities, enhance its academic reputation, and affirm its position in foreign language education and research. The connections established through the conference may open up further opportunities for academic exchange, collaboration, and joint research in the future.
