POST GRADUATE ACADEMIC PLAN

USMLE preparations

The TTU school of Medicine would assist all students in the preparations of the USMLE exams. Usually, for any international graduates, it took them12 months to prepare step 1. Six months for the preparations of USMLE step 2. In June, 2018, Dr Truong T Vien will discuss the practical aspects of the preparations of the USMLE exams, including tips for the Clinical skill (CS) exams with standardized patients.

INTERNSHIP at Vietnamese hospitals or abroad including sub-internship in the US

  1. After graduation, the new medical graduates need to work for 18 months in hospital in order to be qualified for license to practice medicine in Vietnam. I suggest all current 5th year medical students to look at this question and plan for application to hospital in order to be accepted as trainees.
  2. The TTU school of Medicine is also organizing with major Vietnamese hospitals the internship and residencies program for its graduates. At the beginning, the program will function as a 18-month training program for new graduates.
  3. The TTU School of medicine is also exploring the plan to send TTU medical graduates for internship and residencies in hospitals and medical schools in the Philippines (the University of the East (UE) and in Korea (Dong A University medical center)
  4. Short term sub-internship program in the US could be an option, if logistic problems could be solved.
