The “Choose a Happy Career” program, organized by Tan Tao University, is an initiative designed to support students in career orientation and building a successful future. Over the past year, the program conducted 164 workshops, reaching 40,100 students and teachers at high schools. It equipped students with essential knowledge and skills to understand themselves, including their interests, abilities, and personal values. This guidance helped students choose suitable careers, contributing to a happier life.

The program not only emphasized the importance of career selection but also provided updates on labor market trends and potential industries in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Topics such as “How to Prepare for University Life?”, “The Fourth Industrial Revolution: Career Choices for the Future,” and “Gen Z Career Choices in the 4.0 Era” offered students practical insights into development opportunities, job characteristics, and necessary skills in various fields. This practical educational initiative enhances career awareness and opens doors for younger generations to confidently step into the future.

Following 12 years of success, Hoa Trang Nguyen Awards 2024 marked its 13th year of fostering young talents across the nation. To date, more than 10,000 outstanding individuals have been honored, with total award value exceeding 30 billion VND. This meaningful event celebrates 12th-grade students with excellent achievements in national and provincial competitions, as well as exemplary students nominated by high school administrators.

This year, 53 new Hoa Trang Nguyen laureates were awarded prestigious certificates and valuable prizes, recognizing their relentless academic efforts. The awards not only acknowledge academic excellence but also serve as a strong source of encouragement, inspiring young people to pursue knowledge, creativity, and success, contributing to building a talented generation that brings pride to the nation.

On August 20, 2024, Tan Tao University held a ceremony to announce the decision and award the Certificate of Accreditation for the undergraduate medical program, recognized by the Saigon Center for Educational Quality Accreditation (CEA-SAIGON). The program underwent a comprehensive evaluation against rigorous standards, including educational objectives and learning outcomes, program structure, content, and teaching methods; faculty, researchers, staff, and student support services; infrastructure and facilities, among others. The accreditation process was conducted strictly and transparently, providing a comprehensive assessment of the quality of TTU’s medical program.

This milestone reflects the relentless efforts of the university’s Board of Directors, faculty, staff, and students, and demonstrates the school’s commitment to training doctors who are “Proficient in Theory – Strong in Practice.” Tan Tao University continues to improve its educational programs, solidifying its position in medical education and striving toward the goal of producing high-quality healthcare professionals dedicated to community health care.

In the field of medical education, Tan Tao University has further established its reputation with the remarkable achievement of Dr. Tran Trong Nhan, an alumnus of its medical program. He successfully passed the USMLE exams – the prestigious gateway to practicing medicine in the United States – and officially became a resident physician at the University of South Alabama Hospital.

With a bilingual English-Vietnamese curriculum and an IELTS 5.5 graduation standard for the medical program, TTU equips its students with the knowledge and skills necessary to conquer the USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 exams. Guided by dedicated professors and modern teaching methods, TTU opens international career opportunities, providing a solid foundation for students aspiring to practice medicine in the United States.

In 2024, the U.S. Internship Program continues to be a remarkable highlight of Tan Tao University, offering valuable learning and practical experience opportunities for 11 third-, fourth-, and fifth-year medical students. The five-week journey provides internships at leading healthcare institutions, including St. Mary Medical Center (Hobart, IN), Methodist Hospitals (Merrillville, IN), and Purdue University Northwest (Hammond and Westville campuses).

Since its inception in 2016, the U.S. Internship Program has welcomed over 100 students, delivering invaluable experiences and outstanding achievements. This program not only broadens the global perspective of students but also reinforces Tan Tao University’s position in training exceptional doctors who meet international standards. It marks a significant milestone in TTU’s relentless efforts towards high-quality, globally integrated education.

On November 21, 2024, the scientific research titled “Glove Changing Reduced Wound-Related Complications Following Cesarean Section in Vietnam” was published in the prestigious international journal Health Care for Women International. This highly regarded journal, part of Taylor & Francis, is ranked Q1 in the Health Professions category with an SJR index of 0.56 and an H-index of 60.

The research team from Tan Tao University, led by Prof. Dr. Thach Nguyen – Vice President and Dean of the School of Medicine, and Dr. Nguyen Thanh Dien – Head of the Office of Science Management and International Cooperation, collaborated with the team from Hung Vuong Hospital, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Thi Diem Tuyet and Dr. Huynh Xuan Nghiem, among others. The study demonstrated that changing gloves can reduce post-cesarean complications and surgical site infections at Hung Vuong Hospital without extending surgery time or contributing to blood loss.

The success of this research opens new opportunities for collaboration between the two institutions. In the future, this partnership promises to yield more high-quality medical research, contributing to the advancement of healthcare and improving public health services.

On September 29, 2024, Tan Tao University held the graduation ceremony for 62 new doctors and bachelor’s degree graduates. The ceremony was honored by the presence of the University Council, Professors, PhDs, and Doctors who are lecturers of the university, along with leaders and representatives from Long An province. In Particular, representatives from partner hospitals and member companies of Tan Tao Group also attended the event.

During the ceremony, Tan Tao University awarded the prestigious “TTU President’s Honor Award” (valued at 100 million VND) to new doctor Huynh Ngoc Phuong Thanh. Additionally, 04 students from the Medical Program successfully secured residency positions at VinUniversity.

Over the past year, students from Tan Tao University have continued to affirm their academic standing through remarkable achievements at international scientific forums. Notably, TTU students excelled in participating and presenting at the 28th ASEAN Federation of Cardiology Congress (AFCC) held in Singapore, as well as the BNS 2024 Neurology Conference in South Korea, among others. These conferences provided TTU students with opportunities not only to showcase their research projects but also to expand their academic networks and engage with leading experts in their respective fields

In the context of globalization and the urgent demand for the development of clean energy, Tan Tao University (TTU) has established a strategic partnership with Chonnam National University (CNU), South Korea, to transform agricultural by-products into high-value commercial products. This project moves closer to the goal of creating sustainable and eco-friendly bioenergy, progressing from laboratory-scale experiments to small-scale production and preparing for commercial manufacturing.

The collaboration between TTU and CNU not only elevates TTU’s international research standing but also opens up new opportunities for students. From 2024 to 2026, TTU will award 10 full scholarships annually to students in the Biotechnology program, providing comprehensive financial support and enabling students to participate in advanced research projects with a commitment to contribute to the university’s projects for five years after graduation.

Notably, Huynh Thi My Hanh, an outstanding alumna of TTU’s School of Biotechnology, has been awarded a full master’s scholarship at Chonnam National University. This presents an invaluable opportunity for students to gain experience, enhance their professional skills, and develop international careers.

On September 29, 2024, Tan Tao University hosted the Scientific Symposium of the School of Medicine under the theme: “From Research to Clinical Practice.” The event attracted nearly 150 participants, including professors, doctors, pharmacists from leading hospitals and medical centers both domestically and internationally, as well as faculty members and students from the School of Medicine, Tan Tao University. The symposium was not only an opportunity to share knowledge but also served as a bridge connecting the medical communities in Vietnam and abroad.

The highlight of the symposium was three in-depth discussion sessions featuring 15 valuable presentations in the fields of Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Applied Medical Technology. Outstanding research projects by TTU students and doctors from reputable medical institutions were presented, drawing significant attention and high praise from experts. The judging panel provided insightful feedback, guiding presenters to refine their research and improve their scientific presentation skills. This event not only honored academic efforts in linking medical research to clinical practice but also paved the way for numerous opportunities for collaboration and development in the healthcare sector.
