The program “Choosing a Happy Career” took place on the morning of November 27, 2023, at Binh Chanh High School with the theme “The Technological Revolution 4.0.” It aimed to assist students in defining clear career goals, understanding their direction, and focusing on the most critical aspects for personal and professional development.
The event was attended by the school’s Board of Director, homeroom teachers, and over 2000 students from grades 10, 11, and 12. They actively participated, attentively listening to the career guidance session, asking questions related to their abilities, personal interests, and societal workforce trends. Consequently, students will capitalize on suitable opportunities aligned with their career goals, develop necessary skills, shape their learning methods effectively, and confidently prepare for the high school graduation exam, confidently stepping into the doors of higher education.
Sharing valuable insights on career selection, Dr. Nguyen Mai Lam, Vice Provost of Tan Tao University, highlights how the Industrial Revolution 4.0 strongly impacts various economic, social, cultural, and human life aspects. It presents numerous new opportunities but simultaneously poses challenges in maintaining and developing skills suitable for the rapidly changing labor market.
At the same time, Dr. Lam emphasizes the role of languages in today’s increasingly interconnected world and rapidly advancing information technology. Particularly, the English language has become an incredibly crucial skill for students to integrate, absorb new knowledge, become global citizens, and gain more opportunities to achieve their desired salary levels.
Mr. Ngo Thanh Nghia – the homeroom teacher of class 12A10, expressed his impressions about the “Choosing a Happy Career” program conducted by Tan Tao University, which introduces new, meaningful themes each year, keeping up with societal trends and preferences. As a result, students confidently ask themselves questions when they are curious or undecided about their interests. This career-oriented program somewhat creates an environment for students to explore themselves, assess their skills, understand various professions, and grasp career opportunities for their future choices.
Pham Nguyen Hoang Loi – a student from class 12A10, shared: ‘Following the sincere and humorous sharing from Dr. Nguyen Mai Lam, we have gained valuable insights into university admissions methods, admission information, challenges, and specific characteristics of some professions we are interested in.’
Each year, the ‘Choosing a Happy Career’ program collaborates with high schools in the region and neighboring provinces to organize and develop career orientation programs aligned with current trends, addressing societal concerns. In the academic year 2023-2024, TTU will introduce a series of ‘Choosing a Happy Career’ programs with various topics, aiming to provide students with more experiences, enhance their skills, inspire them, and prepare them mentally for the upcoming high school graduation exams.
