On the morning of September 23, Tan Tao University (TTU) held its Opening Ceremony for the 2026–2027 academic year, welcoming numerous distinguished guests and marking the University’s 15-year journey of development.
The ceremony was honored to receive a congratulatory flower arrangement from the Vice Chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, presented by Mr. Lý Thanh Bình – Deputy Director of the Tay Ninh Department of Education and Training, and respectfully welcomed high-ranking delegates and distinguished guests.
Representing the local authorities were Mr. Lê Thanh Tâm – former Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, former Secretary of the Long An Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Dương Quốc Xuân – former Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the Southwestern Region, former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the Long An Provincial People’s Committee; together with representatives of leaders of departments, boards, sectors, units and organizations of Tay Ninh Province.
Among the international delegates were H.E. LUON BUNVADH – Consul General of Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Choi Kyuong Joo – Consul for Culture & Education at the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City; and Mr. An Hee Chul – Director of the Korean Language Education Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea.
Representing the University were members of the University Council, former and current Boards of Management, and the current Board of Management, as well as representatives of companies and schools under the Tan Tao Group. The event also brought together numerous educational partners, including principals of universities, colleges and high schools in Tay Ninh Province and Ho Chi Minh City, together with representatives of businesses, hospitals and banks.
The 2025–2026 academic year marked TTU’s 15-year journey of development with many outstanding achievements. The University continued to be a reputable destination, attracting a large number of new students from specialized high schools and neighboring provinces, particularly welcoming more than 70 medical students from Cambodia, creating a dynamic multicultural learning environment.
Currently, TTU has expanded its scale to 21 programs across 5 fields: Health Sciences, Languages, Economics, Smart Agriculture and Information Technology; officially opened new emerging programs to meet the demand for human resources serving the economic development of Tay Ninh Province and other localities, including Logistics, Chinese Language and Korean Language; while simultaneously promoting postgraduate education with 3 Master’s programs in English Language, Business Administration and Computer Science.
The University also officially launched the Tan Tao University Journal of Science (TJS), achieved quality accreditation for 4 academic programs (Biotechnology, Nursing, International Business and Medical Laboratory Technology), and was honored to undertake the role of Chair of the Emulation Cluster of Universities and Colleges in Tay Ninh Province in 2026.
In scientific research, TTU recorded a breakthrough with 34 international publications, including 23 papers indexed in Scopus/ISI in leading journals such as Nature Medicine, Circulation, and Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine. Two provincial-level projects and three university-level projects were accepted, while 25 faculty and student research projects are currently being implemented. To maintain academic standards, the University continues to improve its science and technology management system, commits to academic integrity, and expands research cooperation with 6 international partners in the fields of climate change, carbon credits, renewable energy and health sciences.
The University continues to affirm its reputation through strategic connections with 4 domestic hospitals and 6 international partners in the United States, South Korea, Cambodia, Indonesia and India (such as the University of Nebraska, Yonam University, Sogang University, Chenla University, UMPRI and Arham Foundation), opening up numerous opportunities for students to participate in practical internships and research.
In the field of Health Sciences, the University has made a strong mark with the milestone of 10 years of accompanying and guiding students toward the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE). At the same time, TTU has expanded its clinical internship network at leading healthcare institutions, universities and hospitals in the United States such as St. Mary, Methodist, Purdue University and Purdue University Northwest. To date, the University has guided and supported many generations of students who have been accepted into medical residency programs at prestigious hospitals in the United States. In particular, the scientific research journey of alumnus – Dr. Vũ Trí Lộc – was honored to be featured on the official website of Harvard Medical School. This achievement affirms the University’s position and the quality of its medical education meeting international standards.
Alongside academics, TTU spreads the spirit of social responsibility through regular health checkups and free health screenings for the community, in combination with many other meaningful volunteer projects led by students, contributing to spreading humanitarian values and a sense of social responsibility.
At the Opening Ceremony, the University was honored to receive the support of partners, businesses and individuals contributing to the University’s Encouragement and Talent Scholarship Fund, with a total value of over VND 110,000,000. At the same time, practical academic donations were presented, including VND 50,000,000 worth of foreign-language books for the library from FAHASA and an ELT Teach 3.0 teacher-training account from Cengage. The solemn highlight of the program was the White Coat Ceremony, marking the beginning of the medical professional journey of the new students of the Faculty of Medicine.
Emphasizing the University’s development orientation, Dr. Nguyễn Mai Lâm – President of Tan Tao University – shared: “In the 2026–2027 academic year, Tan Tao University will continue to build a dynamic learning environment, improve foreign-language proficiency and promote international cooperation, focusing on training human resources who are ‘strong in professional expertise – solid in practical skills.’ This is a strategic launchpad helping students develop comprehensively, confidently master knowledge and be ready for global integration.”
Through this strategic direction, the University places a focus on training human resources who are “professionally competent, practically capable and rich in dedication,” creating a launchpad to help students confidently take charge of their careers and integrate internationally; thereby promising to bring about many breakthroughs and make positive contributions to the development of the locality and the country.
