From the Classroom to High-Tech Agricultural Products

TTU Melon is the result of research, cultivation, and care carried out by lecturers and students of the Faculty of Biotechnology at Tan Tao University (TTU), right on the university’s campus in Duc Hoa. Grown in a modern greenhouse system following VietGAP standards, the model provides students with opportunities to apply their academic knowledge to real-world practice, directly participating in various stages, from planting and cultivation to monitoring plant growth and harvesting.

Through each growing season, students gain hands-on experience with high-tech agricultural production processes, allowing them to better understand how specialized knowledge and technology can be applied to produce safe, high-quality agricultural products. This approach reflects TTU’s commitment to connecting education with practical experience, enabling students not only to acquire knowledge in the classroom but also to observe, practice, and actively participate in the process of creating real products.

Beyond producing agricultural products, students also continue to research and develop value-added products from the melons cultivated on campus, expanding the potential applications of this agricultural resource. In particular, TTU Melon is researched by the Faculty of Biotechnology and produced and distributed in collaboration with Maya GreenSpark Innovations Tay Ninh JSC, creating a connection between the university and the business sector while giving students closer exposure to real-world production processes and market demands.

TTU Melon – A Mark of Young Knowledge in the Local Community

The presence of TTU Melon at the 1st Tay Ninh Agricultural Products & OCOP Festival 2026 is therefore more than simply an opportunity to showcase an agricultural product. It also provides a platform for a model developed through university-based education and research to connect with the wider community, while demonstrating the potential of collaboration among universities, businesses, and local communities in advancing high-tech agriculture.

The fact that TTU Melon represents an outstanding agricultural product of Duc Hoa carries particular significance: the product is cultivated on the very land where the university operates, through the efforts of TTU’s lecturers and students. This demonstrates how education can go beyond equipping learners with academic knowledge to creating tangible value that responds to the needs and development potential of the local community.

The journey from the university campus to the agricultural festival is also a journey of bringing lecturers’ research outcomes, students’ creativity, and TTU’s spirit of technological application closer to the community. TTU Melon is therefore more than an agricultural product; it represents a learning approach rooted in practice, research driven by application, and the efforts of young people to contribute knowledge and technology to enhancing the value of local agricultural products.
