To prepare for an academic journey aligned with international standards, Tan Tao University recognizes English as a crucial key to unlocking global knowledge. During the Orientation Week for the Class of 2024, new students participated in the English entrance Exam, which assessed all four skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. This comprehensive evaluation aims to establish a solid foundation for their upcoming academic pursuits.
On the morning of August 27, 2024, Tan Tao University (TTU) conducted the English entrance Exam for the freshmen of the Class of 2024. The exam, organized by the School of Languages, aimed to assess the English proficiency of newly admitted students, thereby guiding their future learning and development in the language.
Nearly 100 students participated in the exam, which comprised two parts: a Speaking test conducted directly with instructors from the School of Languages and a paper-based assessment of Listening, Reading, and Writing skills. The exam provided a comprehensive evaluation of students’ vocabulary usage, grammar, and communication reflexes. Based on the results, students received detailed feedback on their current English proficiency, helping them identify their strengths and weaknesses to build an appropriate study plan and make necessary improvements.
In the context where English has become a globally prevalent language and an essential tool for entering the international job market, enhancing English proficiency is necessary for every university student. Conducting an English proficiency test at the beginning of their academic journey not only helps students gain a clearer understanding of their language skills but also provides an opportunity for them to choose effective learning methods and plan a systematic approach to improving their English.
