Tan Tao University student awarded a Master’s scholarship in Biotechnology in South Korea

On August 14, 2024, Tan Tao University (TTU) held a signing ceremony for the contract to send students from the School of Biotechnology for postgraduate training under the IBCT Project. The event was attended by the university’s leadership, including Dr. Nguyen Mai Lam – Vice Provost, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Dien – Head of the Research Administration and International Relations, Dr. Ta Van Quang – Deputy Dean of the School of Biotechnology, along with all staff and related departments. Notably, Huynh Thi My Hanh, an alumna of the School of Biotechnology at Tan Tao University, was honored to be selected and awarded a full scholarship to pursue a Master’s program at Chonnam National University in South Korea.

This is a significant milestone and a testament to Tan Tao University’s strategic vision in fostering international educational cooperation, opening up opportunities for study and research at one of South Korea’s leading universities. Additionally, this signed agreement will bring valuable contributions to the School of Biotechnology, Tan Tao University’s green energy project, and the future of science and technology in Vietnam.

“The postgraduate scholarship program for outstanding students is one of the School’s long-term strategies to enhance the quality of education and research. This program, approved by the Chairman of the University Council, aims to train talents for Tan Tao University’s projects and for both national and international projects,” shared Dr. Ta Van Quang, Deputy Dean of the School of Biotechnology.

My Hanh shared that after completing her two-year Master’s program in South Korea, she plans to return to Vietnam to continue contributing to the green energy project and the School of Biotechnology. Over the next five years, Hanh intends to pursue a Ph.D. under the IBCT Project framework, with the goal of developing projects that have a significant impact on the science and technology community.

“Through the IBCT Project, Tan Tao University provides full scholarships covering tuition fees and related expenses such as living costs, airfare, insurance, and more, allowing students to focus on their studies and research. Additionally, after completing their programs, students can bring advanced technology back to Vietnam to continue working and contributing at TTU’s School of Biotechnology. They will be the pioneers in establishing an industrial-scale production facility that transforms agricultural by-products into high-value economic products,” shared Dr. Nguyen Thanh Dien, Head of Research Administration and International Relations.

This scholarship is not only a recognition of Hanh’s proud achievements but also a powerful source of inspiration for current students at Tan Tao University. It encourages future generations of students to persist and strive even harder in their studies and research, contributing to the sustainable development of the biotechnology sector in Vietnam and globally.
