On November 16, 2024, Tan Tao University made a remarkable impression at the 2024 American Heart Association Conference (AHA 2024) by receiving the prestigious Paul Dudley White International Scholar Award, recognizing excellence in cardiovascular research. Representing the university, Dr. Vu Tri Loc proudly accepted the award, bringing great honor to the institution
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Thach Nguyen – Vice President and Dean of the School of Medicine at Tan Tao University – along with support from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Thuong Dung and Dr. Cao Tien Dung from the School of Information Technology, the research team conducted the groundbreaking study titled “Quantifying the Coronary Artery Slow Flow Phenomenon: Insight from Dynamic Angiography and Deep Learning”. This research offers innovative improvements in diagnosing and managing cardiovascular conditions, particularly in Cath-labs without advanced contrast injector systems.
This research project has surpassed many prestigious studies in Vietnam, such as those from Military Hospital 108, Can Tho Central General Hospital and Can Tho Cardiovascular Stroke Hospital, to excellently win the award. This is also the fourth consecutive time that Tan Tao University has achieved a major milestone at the 2024 American Heart Association Conference, affirming its leading position in medical research and innovation.
This proud achievement continues to affirm Tan Tao University’s commitment to contributing to modern medicine, promoting groundbreaking research, and creating sustainable value for the community. The Paul Dudley White Award is not only a recognition for the research team but also evidence of the university’s strategic direction in education and scientific research.
