On October 16th, The 5-Year Establishment Ceremony, The First Commencement Ceremony and the Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year 2015-2016 of Tan Tao University were held at Canary Club. 5-year period is not really long passage in comparison with the development history of a university; however it is enough for TTU to prove its US-style reputation.
Attending the ceremony, TTU honorably welcomed Dr. Eugene H. Levy, Former Provost of Rice University, Texas, Chairman of the NASA Planetary Protection Committee, Founding member and Vice President of the Academic Affairs Committee of Tan Tao University; Mr. Michael W. Michalak, Former United States Ambassador to Vietnam, Senior Vice President of the US-ASEAN Business Council, Founding Board Member, Tan Tao University; Provincial an Central Departments.
2011, TTU held its first Opening Ceremony with 8 majors: Civil Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Finance and Banking, Accounting and Auditing, International Business, Business Management and English Language. In 2013, The Talented High School, Tan Tao University was established; In addition, the School of Biotechnology and Medicine were opened.
Thank to the to the donation of finance and land of Madame. Dang Thi Hoang Yen, and instruction of the leading advisors, TTU has constantly and strongly developed. The TTU Founding Board includes Dr. Stephen Malcolm Gillis, President Emeritus, Rice University, Zingler Professor of Economics & University Professor; Dr. Charles J. Henry, President of the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR); Dr. Eugene H. Levy, Former Provost of Rice University, Texas, Chairman of the NASA Planetary Protection Committee; Mr. Michael W. Michalak,Former United States Ambassador to Vietnam, Senior Vice President of the US-ASEAN Business Council.
2015, the first students of TTU graduates, 84% are recruited by big and famous groups such as Unilever, LG, PWC Vietnam Limited, Pepsi Company, Wall street English center, Odyssey Resources Vietnam even when the students have yet not received the graduate certificate. Many of them are paid the salary up to 20 millions Vietnamese dong/ per month for their management position.
Attending the ceremony, Mr. Tran Hong Quan, Former Minister of Ministry of Education & Training, Chairman of the Non-State University Association highly appreciates TTU’s achievements for the past 5 years, he also hopes to see TTU higher result in the future.
In order to invest for the future development, April 2015, the Medicine and Biotechnology Centre Project has been launched on the total area of 50 hectares, total investment of 50 Millions USD, it is expected to be put in use in 2018.
