1. Admission of University

1.1 Candidates:

Candidates’ application for Tan Tao University Admisson is based on each method below:

  • Method 1: Direct admission relied on regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
  • Method 2: Graduation from Vietnamese High school or equivalent (in the form of formal education or continuing education)
  • Method 3: Papers Exam Result of High School Graduation Exam in 2022 and Subjects Result meet the TTU faculty’s admission, graduated from high school or equivalent according to the regulations of the Ministry Education & Training.
  • Method 4: Results of the competency assessment exam authorized by National University of Ho Chi Minh City in 2022, graduation from high school or equivalent according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
  • Method 5: Graduation from foreign High school programs
  • Method 6: Graduation from a Vietnamese University program or offshore University programs (For those applying for admission to the Health sectors, candidates must meet the input quality assurance standard following the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training)

1.2 Admission range: domestic and international range.

1.3 Admission method:

Tan Tao University includes 6 admission methods applied into all faculty in 2022, which are:

  • Practice 1: Direct admission, priority admission including priority following the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
  • Practice 2: Admission is based on High school graduation exam result:

+ Form 1: Base on High school graduation exam result in 2022

+ Form 2: Base on High school graduation exam result plus International English certificates

  • Practice 3: Admission is based on competency assessment exam results authoried by National University of Ho Chi Minh City in 2022.
  • Practice 4: Admission is based on High school transcripts:

+ Form 1: Base on the total average score of 05 semesters (02 semesters in Grade 10, 02 semesters in Grade 11 and the 1st semester in Grade 12) (except for Faculty of Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Techniques);

+ Form 2: Base on grade 12 transcripts relied on TTU regulations of Falcuty Admission with 3 compel subjects (For those applying for Health Sectors, candidates must meet the input quality assurance standard following the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training);

+ Form 3: Base on the total average score on High school transcripts of Grade 10, Grade 11 and Grade 12 (For those applying for Health Sectors, candidates must meet the input quality assurance standard following the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training);

  • Practice 5: Admission is based on graduation from offshore High school programs with International Certificates inclusive (except for Faculty of Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Techniques)
  • Practice 6: Admission is based on graduation from Vietnamese University programs or offshore University programs (For those applying for Health Sectors, candidates must meet the input quality assurance standard following the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training)

1.4 Criteria for Formal University enrollment in 2022 (only for Formal University at TTU): Admission Criteria for each Faculty/ Major/ Sector; following each admission method and training level.

1.5 Input Quality Assurance Standard – Enrollment eligibility

1.5.1 Practice 1: Direct admission, priority admission following the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Pursuant to the University Enrollment Regulation; College Enrollment for Preschool Education promulgated by Ministry of Education and Training, Tan Tao University gives priority to direct admission candidates based on the following categories:

Category 1: High-school graduates who are summoned for the National team selection exam to participate in the International Olympic Games, or play a role in national team members for the International Science and Technology Competition, will be considered for direct admission to Tan Tao University relied on their competition subjects or on their competition performance. In case candidates selected for International Olympic Competitions or International Science and Technology competitions have not graduated from high school, their results is preserved until the end of graduation year;

Category 2: High-school graduates who are Winners, Runners-up and 2nd runners-up in the National Exam for Excellent Students, or in the National Science and Technology contests will be considered for direct admission to Tan Tao University relied on their competition subjects or on their competition performance related to the prizes;

Category 3: High-school graduates who are Winners, Runners-up and 2nd runners-up in competitions for Excellent Students, Science and Technology contests, talent contests and sports competitions in their province/ city and have average scores in grade 12 from 6.5 points. Particularly, to those who register for the Health sectors, be an excellent students in grade 12 and have an average grade score of 8.0 is a must;

Category 4: High-school graduates from Specialized schools, Elementary schools have an average score in grade 12 from 8.0. Particularly, to those who register for the Health sectors, qualified as an excellent student in grade 12 is a must.

Category 5: For the Faculty of English language, High-school graduates owning International IELTS Academic 6.0 band-score; TOEFL iTB from 80 points, Duolingo English Test from 95 points or more and have an average score in grade 12 of 6.5 points will receive a direct admission.

Category 6: High-school graduates from Educational Partners which have signed agreements on career counseling, enrollment, skills training, have a letter of recommendation from the principal and have an average score in grade 12 of 8.0. Particularly, to those who register for the Health sectors, qualified as an excellent student in grade 12 is a must.

1.5.2 Practice 2: Admission is based on High school graduation exam result:

  • B00: Math, Chemistry, Biology
  • B03: Math, Biology, Literature
  • D08: Math, Biology, English

* Admission subjects combination for Faculty of Biotechnology based on the high school graduation exam:

  • A02: Math, Physics, Biology.
  • B00: Math, Chemistry, Biology.
  • B03: Math, Biology, Literature.
  • B08: Math, English, Biology.

* Admission subjects combination for Faculty of English Language based on the high school graduation exam:

  • A01: Math, Physics, English.
  • D01: Literature, Math, English.
  • D07: Math, Chemistry, English.
  • D08: Math, Biology, English.

* Admission subjects combination for Faculty of Business Administration, International Business, Finance and Banking, Accounting, Computer Science based on the high school graduation exam:

  • A00: Math, Physics, Chemistry.
  • A01: Math, Physics, English.
  • D01: Math, Literature, English.
  • D07: Math, Chemistry, English.
  • When candidates ensure the conditions for consideration: The admission score is the sum of tests scores/exams scores on a 10-point scale for each test/subject of each combination and plus the region priority points (depends on the lastest University Admission regulations; college admissions in Preschool Education) and rounded to two decimal digits. The admisison process is carried out under the descending principle until the criteria is met.
§ Form 2: Base on High school graduation exam result plus International English certificates
a. Input quality assurance standard:
  • Candidates registered for the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Medical Laboratory Techniques with the total score of 3 exams/subjects A00, B00, B08, D07 and priority points (if any) must be equal to or above the minimum score of the input quality assurance standard determined by the Ministry of Education and Training. The admission score is determined by the Admission Council of Tan Tao University.
  • Candidates who register for other faculties (except for the group of Health sectors) the total score of 3 exams/subjects relied on regulation of Tan Tao University and the priority points (if any) must be equal to or above the minimum score of the the input quality assurance standard powerred by Tan Tao University. The admission score is determined by the Admission Council of Tan Tao University.
  • Holding valid International English certificates (until the date of application submission relied on regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training).
  • Faculty of Medicine: Candidates have IELTS Academic5 band-score or higher, Duolingo English Test from 85 points or TOEFL iBT from 68 points.
  • Faculty of Nursing and Medical Laboratory Techniques: Candidates have IELTS Academic0 band-score or higher, Duolingo English Test from 75 points or TOEFL iBT from 61 points.
  • Other faculties: Candidates have IELTS Academic0 band-score or higher, Duolingo English Test from 75 points or TOEFL iBT from 61 points.

+ TOEFL iBT: Educational Testing Service (ETS)

+ IELTS: British Council (BC); International Development Program (IDP) (TTU will check the original international English certificate during the enrollment process, candidate will be removed from the list of successful applicants if there are any prescribed conditions not met).

b. Admission eligibility:

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ Participated in the high school graduation exam in 2022

+ Admission subjects combination result depends on each Faculty requirements:

* Admission subjects combination for Faculty of English Language based on the high school graduation exam:

c. Admission principle
  • Candidates register for admission on the system of the Ministry of Education and Training base on regulations and supplement a notarized copy of the international English certificate at Tan Tao University (in person or by post) in accordance with the pre-qualification schedule of the Ministry of Education and Training (TTU will announce later).
  • Admission score: is the sum of tests scores/exams scores on a 10-point scale for each test/subject of each combination and plus the region priority points and rounded to two decimal digits

Admission test score = Total score of all exams/subjects (a) + Priority score (b)

(a) = Combination subjects score

(b) = region priority score

  • Matriculation score: is the lowest admission score that a candidate is considered for the chosen training major.
1.5.3 Pratice 3: Base on the results of thecompetency assessment exam authorized by National University of Ho Chi Minh City in 2022.
  1. Inputy quality assurance standard: TTU will announce the result is released the National University of Ho Chi Minh City.
  2. Admission eligibility:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Participated in the competency assessment exam authorized by National University of Ho Chi Minh City in 2022
  • For those who apply for the Health sectors using the method based on results of the 2022 competency assessment exam authorized by National University of Ho Chi Minh City, candidates must meet the input quality assurance standard prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training.
  • The admission score is the total score of the 2022 competency assessment test authorized by National University of Ho Chi Minh City (relied on the scale of 1200) and plus the region priority points the current Admission Regulations. The admission process is carried out under the descending principle until the criteria is met.
1.5.4 Practice 4: Admission is based on High school transcripts:
  • Form 1: Base on the total average score of 05 semesters (02 semesters in Grade 10, 02 semesters in Grade 11 and the 1st semester in Grade 12) (except for Faculty of Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Techniques);
  • Input quality assurance standard: the total average score of 05 semesters is from 0 or higher (on a 10-point scale);
  • Admission eligibility:

+ High school diploma or equivalent;

+ When candidates ensure the conditions for consideration: The admission score is the sum of tests score/exams score (on a 10-point) scale for each test/subject of each combination and plus the region priority points relied on current enrollment regulations. The admisison process is carried out under the descending principle until the criteria is met.

  • Form 2: Base on grade 12 transcripts relied on combinations of 3 compel subjects
  • Input quality assurance standard: The total average score of 3 compel subjects in Grade 12 used for admission is from 18.0 or (on a 10-point scale).
  • Admission eligibility:

+ Admission subjects combination result depends on each Faculty requirements:

* Admission subjects combination for Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Medical Laboratory Techniques based on the high school graduation exam:

  • When candidates ensure the conditions for consideration: The admission score is the total average score of 3 compel subjects in Grade 12 used for admission (on a 10-point scale) plus the region priority points relied on current enrollment regulations and rounded to two decimal digits. The admisison process is carried out under the descending principle until the criteria is met.

Form 3: Base on the total average score on High school transcripts of Grade 10, Grade 11 and Grade 12 (except for Health Sectors);

  • Input quality assurance standard: is the average sum of average score in Grade 10, Grade 11, Grade 12 (on a 10-point scale)
  • Admission eligibility:

+ High school diploma or equivalent

1.5.5 Practice 5: Admission is based on graduation from offshore High school programs and International Certificates inclusive (except for Faculty of Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Techniques)
Admission eligibility A. For candidates who have Vietnamese nationality and belongs to one of the following categories:

1. Holding one of the following international baccalaureate degrees/certificates:

International Baccalaureate (IB) is from 22 points or higher;

The international certificate of Cambridge University Examinations, UK (Cambridge International Examinations A-Level, UK; hereinafter referred to A-Level certificate) from C to A.

– Certificate of BTEC (Business & Technical Education Council, certified by British Technical and Commercial Education Council) Level 3 Extended Diploma from C to A.

2. Graduated from offshore high school programs and holding one of the following certificates:

– IELTS certificate of 5.0 or higher.

– TOEFL iBT certificate from 61 points or higher.

– SAT certificate (Scholastic Assessment Test, USA) from 400 points or higher for each section.

– ACT certificate (American College Testing) from 15 points (scale of 36) or higher.

B. For candidates with a nationality other than Vietnamese, graduating from a foreign high school and having one of the following certificates:

– IELTS certificate of 5.5 or higher (No skill less than 5.0).

– TOEFL iBT certificate from 68 points or higher.

– SAT certificate (Scholastic Assessment Test, USA) with 400 points or higher for each section.

– ACT (American College Testing) certificate from 15 points (scale of 36) or higher.

* For foreign candidates graduated from offshore high schools: Tan Tao University conducts the admission according to Circular No. 30/2018/TT-BGDDT dated on December 24th, 2018 on Management Regulations of foreign students in Vietnam

Note: International certificates are valid until the date of submission of application for admission.

Admission principle The admission score is the total score achieved by the candidate when graduating from a foreign baccalaureate program, from a foreign high school or from an international certificate.
