TTU Students Win First Prize at the 5th “Innovative Startup” Competition in Long An Province, 2024

On October 29, 2024, a team of students from TTU’s School of Economics & Business Administration won First Prize in the Idea category at the 5th “Innovative Startup” Competition in Long An Province, 2024. Organized by the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee and the Department of Science and Technology of Long An Province, the competition attracted a total of 203 submissions from various local organizations.

The idea “BIOFEED – A Breakthrough in Sustainable Agriculture” by a team of students from the School of Economics & Business Administration at Tan Tao University won First Prize at the competition.

After a thorough selection process, the judges chose the top 10 submissions to compete in the Final Round, including 5 projects and 5 innovative ideas. Notably, this year’s competition featured many ideas and projects in the field of agriculture, emphasizing high applicability with models for product commercialization and the integration of modern technology in production. These projects not only contribute to economic development but also open new directions for the province’s agricultural sector.

Notably, the idea “BIOFEED – A Breakthrough in Sustainable Agriculture” by students Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh and Truong Thi Hoai Mong from Tan Tao University won First Prize in the competition. This idea utilizes black soldier fly larvae to provide livestock feed while effectively addressing environmental issues at a reasonable cost, promoting a circular economy model. With support from various departments at Tan Tao University, including Biotechnology, Economics, and Information Technology, the team has continuously improved the product and enhanced its competitiveness through potential partnerships with businesses in the Tan Duc Industrial Park.

Thuy Linh shared, “I feel very happy and proud that all the efforts our team put in have yielded such a rewarding outcome. We also extend our sincere gratitude to the teachers and mentors from the School of Biotechnology, the School of Economics, and the Student Affairs Office at Tan Tao University for their dedicated guidance and support throughout our journey. Thanks to their encouragement, we were able to overcome many challenges to achieve this result today. This success motivates us to continue working on our upcoming projects, helping us grow personally and affirming the spirit of creativity and determination of Tan Tao University students.”

Additionally, Tan Tao University made a strong impression with two other ideas advancing to the Semifinal Round of the competition, affirming the creativity and bold spirit of Vietnam’s young generation in creating solutions that bring practical value to the community. It is hoped that the projects and ideas from this competition will soon be applied in practice, bringing tangible benefits to society and serving as a foundation for the younger generation to continue contributing and innovating in the future.
