On the morning of October 7, Tan Tao University (TTU), in collaboration with Dan Tri Newspaper and the People’s Committee of Long Huu Commune, Tay Ninh Province, participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for two charity homes for disadvantaged households in the area. At the ceremony, the University directly donated a total of VND 25 million to help the families gradually stabilize their lives and secure safer living conditions.

TTU Joins Hands to Build Homes for Disadvantaged Families
Representing Tan Tao University at the groundbreaking ceremony and directly presenting the financial support was Dr. Ngo Quang Vinh, Vice Rector and Editor-in-Chief of the Tan Tao University Journal of Science. The initiative was carried out in coordination with Dan Tri Newspaper and the People’s Committee of Long Huu Commune, reflecting the participating organizations’ shared commitment to improving the lives of disadvantaged residents in the local community.
The two households receiving support are facing significant hardships. Their old houses have severely deteriorated, posing risks of leaks and collapse during rainy and windy weather. However, their financial circumstances do not allow them to rebuild their homes independently.
Among the beneficiaries is Ms. Le Thi Buon, 70, who lives in Dong Hamlet. Due to her advanced age and frequent illnesses, she relies primarily on shelling cashew nuts for hire, earning approximately VND 25,000–30,000 per day. The other beneficiary is Mr. Huynh Van Kiet, 62, from Hau Loc Hamlet, who sells lottery tickets on the streets every day to cover living expenses and support his daughter and newborn grandchild.

With a total direct contribution of VND 25 million for the two households, Tan Tao University hopes to ease their financial burdens and help them build more secure and safer homes. These charity homes represent not only practical material assistance but also a meaningful source of encouragement, giving the families renewed hope as they work toward overcoming their difficulties and stabilizing their lives.
Spreading Compassion and Strengthening Community Responsibility
As a higher education institution closely connected to the local community, Tan Tao University places great emphasis on social initiatives that deliver meaningful benefits to society. Alongside its core missions of education and scientific research, the University actively collaborates with organizations, institutions, and local authorities on programs that support residents, improve living conditions, and promote a spirit of mutual care and solidarity.
Supporting the construction of the two charity homes in Long Huu Commune further demonstrates TTU’s social responsibility and the commitment of its Board of Management, faculty members, staff, and students to helping people facing difficult circumstances. Every contribution, no matter its size, helps create positive change and gives community members additional support as they strive to improve their lives.

Through this meaningful initiative, Tan Tao University continues to affirm its commitment to development closely linked with social responsibility, while spreading compassion and a spirit of sharing. The University hopes to continue working alongside local authorities on social welfare programs, contributing to a more developed, compassionate, and sustainable community.
