Dear distinguished delegates and students,
Today, under the authorization of Mme Dang Thi Hoang Yen, Founder and President of the Hoa Trang Nguyen Award, I am very honored to welcome delegates and students to attend the Hoa Trang Nguyen Award Ceremony 2014 and the new school year opening ceremony 2014-2015. On behalf of the President and the Hoa Trang Nguyen Award Organizing Committee, I would like to extend my best wishes to delegates, all students and outstanding awardees.
With the purpose of honoring, motivating and encouraging outstanding students, training and seeking talents for the country, the Hoa Trang Nguyen Award has been founded by Mme. Dang Thi Hoang Yen since 2008 and now enters the seventh year. Over the past six years, we have identified, encouraged and supported, via the ITA Scholarship, more than 9000 ‘Hoa Trang Nguyen’ outstanding students, with ability to overcome their difficulties to achieve success in study. Many students have not only got achievements for themselves but also brought pride to the country.
From this year, with the purpose of selecting more outstanding students in study, the Hoa Trang Nguyen Organizing Committee has decided to increase the award requirements and value: Students winning prizes at the International Olympiad competitions will be granted a laptop and VND 2 million, students winning the first prize at the national contests will be granted VND 4 million, students having the highest university entrance scores at universities and institutions over the country will be granted VND 3 million, students with disadvantaged backgrounds winning the second and third prizes at the national contests will receive VND 3 million. In addition, all ‘Hoa Trang Nguyen’ students will have the opportunity to receive scholarships with the value up to USD 27,500 (USD 50, 000 for Medical School) to study at the Tan Tao University.
I expect you, awardees of the Award, will just regard your awards as your initial recognition and success and will continue to uphold the ‘Hoa Trang Nguyen’ spirit in learning and training to achieve more significant successes in order to positively contribute to develop a happy and prosperous Vietnam that can “stand shoulder to shoulder with developed countries” following the teachings of our beloved President Ho Chi Minh.
Once again, I’d like to send the best wishes to the distinguished delegates for health and success, to the students for achieving outstanding results in learning and training.
