SUMMER 2018: CLERKSHIP IN THE U.S, Korea and with American Physicians in Vietnam

Medical Clerkship at St Mary Medical Center, Hobart IN and Methodist Hospital, Merrillville IN   

This year, the clerkship at St. Mary Medical Center, Hobart IN will include students from Tan Tao University, ethnic Vietnamese students from Debrecen, Hungary and Kiev School of Medicine, Ukraine, some doctors from other medical schools in Vietnam (observership). The clerkship will begin on May 21 and conlcude on July 7, 2018. The second group will come at the beginning of August.

1. Daily teaching rounds in medicine, critical care medicine, infectious disease, etc.
2. Afternoon lecture or case presentation.
3. Attendance at Grand Round (once/week): interesting clinical cases or research projects
4. At the end of the rotation, the TTU students also have a chance to present an interesting case that they saw during the month (15 min presentation) to faculty members and other trainees. This would help them to acquire presentation skills and to learn how to research scientific literature
5. The TTU students will attend the Problem Based Learning at the Indiana University school of Medicine.

Hematology Clerkship at Memorial Hermann, Houston

Two students will do clerkship in the department of hematology at the Memorial Hermann Medical Center, the University of Texas in Houston Texas, from August 1 to August 2018. Fee for paperworks to pay to the University is 1700.00 USD

Program for TTU students

1. Daily teaching conferences (1 to 2 a day), most on general pathology, some specifically for hematology/hematopathology
2. Attendance at Grand Round (once/week): interesting clinical cases or research projects
3. Attendance at Hematology/Hematopathology Tumor Board (once/week) to discuss ongoing leukemia/lymphoma cases
4. Daily work in Hematology/Coagulation Laboratory to sign out cases.
5. The TTU students will be expected to work alongside with faculty to write up clinical reports which will be reviewed and verified by supervising faculty. They are also expected to learn how to use most up-to-date technology in diagnostic hematology.
6. At the end of the rotation, the TTU students also have a chance to present an interesting case that they saw during the month (15 min presentation) to faculty members and other trainees. This would help them to acquire presentation skills and to learn how to research scientific literature

This program will accept one student to do clinical research at the Cardiovascular Center, at Christ Hospital, Cincinati OH

Medical Clerkship at Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea

In May 2018. four students will do clerkship at Yonsei University, Seoul Korea.

Clerkship at Tân Tạo hospital with American physicians

At the end of June, the physicians from the Vn HOPE program will teach hand-on medicine to the 40 3^rd medical students in their Charity Medical Mission at Tân Tạo hospital for 2 weeks
