TTU’s diversified admission criteria from 2015 onwards

The admission scheme of Tan Tao University (TTU) has been approved by the Ministry of Education and Training under Official Letter No. 7438/BGDDT-KTKDCLGD on December 23, 2014. Accordingly, in addition to admission of high school graduates according to the Vietnamese education system, TTU will enroll Vietnamese students, foreign students graduating from international high schools in Vietnam and students graduating from overseas high schools. Graduate students who wish to obtain a university degree from Tan Tao University can apply for admission to the various programs of TTU.

Further, it should be noted from 2015 that students who want to change their degree program in TTU will be considered and evaluated to ensure the best interests for them.

As a non-profit university in accordance with the American standards, TTU teaches English language in all of its schools. In the School of Medicine, students are offered courses taught in both Vietnamese and English to ensure that future physicians graduating from Tan Tao Medical School can work in Vietnam, United States and any other countries in the world.

Although the university is a newly established higher education institution with 5 years old, TTU has paid much attention to the education quality right from its admission process. TTU’s admission requirements for school year 2015-2016 as follows:

1. Applicants, application requirements, admission requirements

1. Students graduating from Vietnamese high schools. For outstanding students with the following prizes::

a) International competition prizes.

b) First prize, second prize and third prize at the national academic competitions.

Direct admission will be based on the interview results and selected from the highest prize to meet the enrollment target of TTU.
Admission requirements for other students:

a) GPA of 10th, 11th, 12th grades must be at least 7.0 or higher for School of Medicine and at least 6.5 for other Schools.

b) Graduating from high school

c) GPA of three subjects at the national high school graduation examination relating to the registered degree program must be at least 7.0 for School of Medicine or higher and at least 6.5 for other Schools.

Admission scores are based on students’ performance at high school, results of the national   High Graduation Examination and interview results and will be selected from the highest to meet the enrollment target of TTU.

Groups of subjects at the national high graduation examination to be admitted to the university :

+ School of Humanities and Languages: (English, Literature, Mathematics) or (English, Literature, History) or (English, Literature, Geography). Score of the subject among four subjects English, Literature, History, Geography which is highest will be multipled by 2. Other subjects are multiplied by 1.

+ School of Engineering: (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) or (Mathematics, Physics, English) or (Mathematics, Chemistry, English) or (Mathematics, Literature, English). Score of the subject among four subjects Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry which is highest will be multiplied by 2. Other subjects are multiplied by 1.

+ School of Business and Economics: (Mathematics, English, Literature) or (Mathematics, English, History) or (Mathematics, English , Chemistry) or (Mathematics, English, Physics). Score of the subject among six subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Literature, English, History which is highest will be multiplied by 2. Other subjects are multiplied by 1.

+ School of Biotechnology: (Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology) or (Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics) or (Mathematics, Biology, Physics) or (Mathematics, Biology, English). Score of the subject among three subjects: Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry which is highest will be multiplied by 2. Other subjects are multiplied by 1.

+ School of Medicine: (Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry) or (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) or (Mathematics, Biology, Physics) or (Mathematics, Literature, Biology). Scores of the following subjects will be multiplied by 2: Mathematics – Biology; Mathematics – Chemistry; Chemistry – Biology; Biology – Literature. Other subjects’ scores will be multiplied by 1.

2. Vietnamese students, foreign students graduating from international high schools in Vietnam and students graduating from overseas high schools. a) GPA>= 2.7 (or equivalent)

b) One of the main subjects must has GPA at the 12th grade >= 2,7 (or equivalent)

c) GPA of English language at 12th grade >= 2,7 (or equivalent)

Admission scores are based on students’ performance at high school and interview results and will be selected from the highest to meet the enrollment target of TTU.

Admission score = GPA of high school years + (GPA of the subject with the highest score during the high school period relating to the registered degree program) x 2

+ If applicants study under the American education system, the admission will be based on SAT scores.

+ If applicants study under the British educational system, the admission will be based on A Level scores.

+ For other educational systems in other countries, subject to the .particular characteristics of each education system, the Admission Council of TTU will determine appropriate requirements

3. Graduate students who wish to obtain a university degree from Tan Tao University. Having a university degree Directly admitted based on the interview results

2. Admission Schedule:

Tan Tao University has a regular enrollment during the school year, two admissions per school year and offers credit education programs:

First admission in the Fall Semester in September, Second admission in the Spring Semester in January.

3. Admission principles: According to the following priority order:

a) Applicants winning international competition prizes

b) Applicants winning first national prize, second national prize and third national prize in academic subjects and will be evaluated from the highest prizes.

c) Other applicants: The admission will based on the admission scores.

4. Application for admission:

– 01 admission application

– 01 copy of high school graduation degree or temporary high school graduation certificate

– 01 copy of certificate of national prize (if any);

– 01 copy of Identify Card;

– 02 photos in 3×4 cm;

– Certificate of priority (if any);

– Certificates of other achievements ( if any)

– The applicant writes an essay of around 2000 words about “his/her dream and aspiration ”

– 02 recommendation letters from the applicant’s teachers in an sealed envelope..
