On 8/8/2023, at the School of Medicine, Tan Tao University, the defense of the medical graduation thesis was held. This is an activity that summarizes the learning process of students and the proud research results of teachers and students of the School of Medicine of TTU.
In, there are graduation topics of medical students and students of Medical Laboratory Technology that take place in the morning and afternoon and are defended in front of the Council, including the Chairman of the Council, review members, secretaries Professors, Doctors, Specialist Doctors leading experts in the medical field. For each topic, students have a maximum of 20 minutes to present a summary of the research results within the framework of the thesis, then the Reviewer and the Council members spend 30 minutes commenting on and evaluating the topic.
At the report session, Prof. Dr. Le Van Cuong – Chairman of the Council shared his experiences when defending the thesis to encourage and help students feel more comfortable and confident: “You should be confident with what you have learned and done by yourself, know how to research, synthesize and use information sources to support the thesis. So this is a successful first step that you have done so well.”
During the course of the thesis, in addition to the guidance of the teachers of the School of Medicine, the students also received the guidance and dedicated help of the instructors at medical facilities such as the Tan Tao Medical University Hospital, Tu Du Hospital, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Binh Dan Hospital, Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital, Thong Nhat Hospital,…
As a result, during the research process, they participated in implementing very practical topics such as the topic “Ectopic pregnancy rate in female members at Tu Du hospital in 2022” by student Nguyen Hong Ngoc Duyen class 2017-2023; The topic “Immature granulocyte count in upper urinary tract infections with systemic inflammatory response at Binh Dan hospital” presented by Tran Thi Thuy Lien.
During the defense process, the Council always closely follows the groups to comment, ask questions and provide many situations, helping students to solve the remaining shortcomings in their topic. Although the graduate theses of students are not perfect, they are the premise for further studies after they dive deeper into the industry and into the real working environment.
