On October 11, 2024, the School of Medicine at Tan Tao University hosted a seminar titled “Differentiating Gallbladder Stones and Bile Duct Stones,” featuring Dr. Ho Thi Diem Thu. The session provided in-depth knowledge about the biliary system, helping students distinguish between types of gallstones and learn about modern diagnostic and treatment methods. This event not only raised awareness of disease prevention but also equipped students with a strong foundation for effective personal healthcare. In the future, the university plans to hold additional seminars to broaden students’ practical knowledge.
On October 20, in celebration of Vietnamese Women’s Day, Tan Tao University organized a meaningful event to honor and recognize the contributions of female faculty and staff. The event took place in a joyful atmosphere, featuring a lucky draw and thoughtful gifts from the university leadership and male staff and faculty members for their female colleagues. The program not only expressed gratitude and appreciation but also fostered moments of connection and sharing on this special day.
The “Linear Regression” student team from Tan Tao University’s School of Information Technology, consisting of Vo Huu Nhan, Huynh Van Dong, and Nguyen Hoai Duy, achieved a top 3 finish at the “Vietnam Rust Hackathon,” earning a two-week study trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand, from October 19, 2024, to November 2, 2024. During this trip, they will have the opportunity to work alongside international developers at the Ethereum Foundation’s Devcon event, gaining experience in an international work environment and enhancing their programming skills. This trip also allows students to explore Thai culture, experience a new educational environment, and prepare for future tech projects.
On the afternoon of October 25, 2024, Tan Tao University and National Mental Hospital 2 signed a principal agreement for clinical training for medical students, opening opportunities for students to gain practical experience in a hospital environment, particularly in the field of mental health. The signing ceremony was attended by leaders from both institutions, marking a step forward in the effort to develop a high-quality healthcare workforce.
Earlier, on October 8, 2024, representatives from Tan Tao University visited the hospital to discuss the clinical training program in detail, aiming to build a solid foundation of professional expertise and practical skills for students. This partnership not only strengthens the mission to train high-quality medical personnel but also contributes to improving community mental health care.On October 29, 2024, a team of students from Tan Tao University’s School of Economics & Business Administration won First Prize at the 5th Long An Province “Innovative Startup” Competition. The event attracted 203 submissions from various organizations across the province. After a rigorous selection process, the judges chose the top 10 submissions to compete in the Final Round, including 5 projects and 5 innovative ideas. Additionally, Tan Tao University had two other ideas reach the Semifinal Round.
The idea “BIOFEED – A Breakthrough in Sustainable Agriculture” by students Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh and Truong Thi Hoai Mong, uses black soldier fly larvae to produce animal feed, effectively addressing environmental issues at a reasonable cost while promoting a circular economy model. With support from various specialized departments at Tan Tao University, the team has continuously refined their product and increased its competitiveness through potential partnerships with businesses in the Tan Duc Industrial Park. Through the competition, the participating ideas and projects not only showcased the value of innovative solutions but also reflected the aspirations of Vietnam’s young generation to contribute to the community and society.
On the afternoon of October 30, 2024, Tan Tao University hosted the “TTU Halloween Party 2024”, creating a festive atmosphere and giving students the opportunity to showcase their personalities through unique Halloween costumes. This eagerly awaited event has become a tradition, allowing students to display their talent and creativity while strengthening camaraderie across different schools.
The highlight of the program was the “Tan Tao The Scalpel Beauty Show” costume contest, where students cosplayed as legendary and horror characters in line with the organizers’ theme. The festival witnessed impressive performances by contestants, with exciting prizes awarded for the most creative costumes. The TTU Halloween Party 2024 was not only a space for entertainment but also a chance for students to unwind and immerse themselves in the lively and unique Halloween spirit.
At the end of October 2024, the research team from the School of Medicine at Tan Tao University once again made a significant impact by winning the Paul Dudley White International Scholar Award from the American Heart Association. This year, the team’s research, titled “Quantifying the Coronary Artery Slow Flow Phenomenon: Insight from Dynamic Angiography and Deep Learning,” outshone other prominent research groups in Vietnam to receive this prestigious award. This marks the fourth consecutive year that Tan Tao University has achieved this honor, solidifying the university’s standing in cardiovascular research.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Thach Nguyen, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Thuong Dung, and Dr. Cao Tien Dung from the School of Information Technology at Tan Tao University, the research team developed this method to enhance diagnostic capabilities and cardiovascular health care. The award will be presented to the research team at the American Heart Association Conference (AHA 2024), taking place from November 16-18, 2024, in Chicago, Illinois, USA. This achievement is a testament to Tan Tao University’s relentless commitment to advancing global medical science and fostering breakthrough innovations in medical research.
